The Shape I'm In
unhinged brain dribble
Writer’s note: I was stuck. Someone suggested stream of consciousness. I didn’t argue.
All I have today are loose wires. Thoughts touching each other and sparking and then backing away like, “sorry, too much”.
It’s a noise that I keep mistaking for a thought or feeling.
The noise is not really a ringing. More like a thump, thump—It’s a thumping.
I try to follow it. It moves, you know.
I am doing that thing where you hold your breath without realizing it and then wondering why I can’t breathe.
